SKIP CSR Initiatives
1. M/s. Quest Alliance, Bangalore
Founded in 2005 as a program of the International Youth Foundation, provides disadvantaged learners aged 10-25, a set of real-world skills along with opportunities to build confidence in a fun and engaging way, preparing them for work and life.
SKIP has signed a MoU with M/s. Quest Alliance to Train the Trainers (ToT) of SKIP member institutions in “Life Skills and Work Skills”.
The following workshops of 3 full days was conducted for SKIP members:
- Western and Northern Regions from 25th to 27th September 2014 at Goa.
- South Central, South East and South West Regions from 6th to 8th November 2014 at Bangalore
- North East, Central and Eastern Regions from 27th to 29th November 2014 at Kolkata
Also, an EDP program for students from SKIP members will be sponsored by them.
Quest Alliance is supporting the SKIP Advanced Tech Centre trainees with soft skills.
SKIP is looking forward to an enriching partnership with Quest Alliance.
2. M/s. TATA Motors, Pune.
The Learn and Earn program initiative by TATA Motors Ltd. is a Corporate Sustainability Program. It’s a viable program for SKIP Technical institutes as there are no bindings from the Corporate. Trainees have the flexibility to join any company they wish after their training.
M/s. Tata Motors Limited and SKIP has signed the MoU for support under their “Kaushalya”. This is a 12 months program titles ‘Learn and Earn Program’ where in TATA Motors Ltd, will support the very poor trainees from the lower strata of the society. It’s a 3months theory at the institute and 9 months practicals at a Dealer’s Service Centre. Trainees under this program will be paid a stipend of Rs. 3000/- pm for 9 months. Placements are provided by dealers of the TATA Motors Ltd for those trainees willing to join them.
The Learn and Earn program has been very successful in many part of the country and it has been extended to SKIP member institutes.
Mr. VinodKulkarni, Deputy General Manager and Mr. Shivram Krishnan, Assistant general Manager of TATA Motors Ltd. have been extremely supportive for SKIP and its member institutes.
M/s. Tata Motors Limited have also,sponsored a workshop limiting to 30 per batch conducted for only the Directors / Headof SKIP Member institutes on “Management of Strategic Financial and Administration” at their Training Centres at Pune.
About 35 SKIP Members Institutions have been visited by Mr. Shivaram Krishnan along with Mr. Joseph Stanley for their partnership agreement and members have signed the MoUwith M/s. TATA Motors Limited. This program will beinitiating for all eligible SKIP members from all the regions.

3. M/s. Mico Bosch Limited, Bangalore
Bosch Vocational Center is one of the most reputed Vocational Training Institute in India, which was also visited by the Federal Republic President of Germany, recently.
BRIDGE - Bosch Employable skill Programme is a project under Corporate Social Responsibility, which has devised a 2 months Job Oriented Training Program for school and college dropouts.
The training module here includes imparting both soft skills, such as communication, personality development and grooming, and industry specific skills ranging from retail, manufacturing, health, IT, telecom etc. The training programme has a provision of internship and post training employment support is backed by Bosch.
4. M/s. TCS Bangalore:
SKIP members have had the privilege of TCS training program for COPA instructors during the year 2013-14, as a part of their CSR. Now, they have proposed to conduct training programs, as per the need of SKIP member institutions.
They are also, looking at recruiting trainees from SKIP institutes who successfully completed their training in Carpenter, Plumber and Electrician trades, for their own establishments.
5. M/s. Schneider Electric, Mumbai:
SKIP is collaborating with M/s. Schneider Electric, Mumbai to impart vocational training in Electrical sector on short term modules, for the school dropouts and underprivileged youth. This short term training module of 3-4 months, this aims to provide skill in electrical domain.
